Unity for Autism 2020 Grant of $25000 awarded towards implementation of a Life Skills Program supported by ASDAN materials.

2019 Charity Partners

We were able to kit out two rooms in John Cooper Learning Centre with the $25,000 grant from Unity for Autism.

Self Regulation Room: This is to help students relax, meditate, de-escalate.This includes, lights, projector, bubble tube music, sound machine and diffuser. This is to work on all senses to help a student to come in with a staff member and to meet their needs. The students have the opportunity to meditate and have been introduced to mindfulness.This is a Snoezlen style room. We have a hallway with freely boards and a wall mounted giant electronic game that is fitted on the wall upstairs.

Our new Hang Out room: this includes 2 bikes that power the virtual reality playstation games. This is a great reward for the students to encourage them to work, and a great way of picking up a students energy levels.

Pepsi Cola has supported us with the purchase of fitness equipment for different age students at the centre.
